Verschlüsselter Code in Bin-Laden-Video

--- Analysten vom Northeast Intelligence Network (NEIN), einer privaten Antiterror-Watch-Site, haben nach eigenen Angaben einen verschlüsselten Code in einem alten, allerdings gerade mit englischen Untertiteln neu eingespielten Bin-Laden-Video entdeckt und als "Beweis" ein entsprechendes Foto online veröffentlicht: In an in-depth analysis of a recently re-released videotape of Osama bin Laden’s August 2003 speech, Northeast Intelligence Network analysts found apparent alpha-numeric codes embedded in several frames of over 55,800 frames of the video tape analyzed. The code is not visible through normal viewing of the footage, and the viewer must know where in the lengthy footage to look for the coding sequence. The above frame illustrates a coding string found on one of the frames hidden in the footage. The video is significant itself as previously released bin Laden footage preceded the Madrid bombing attacks on 11 March 2004. Analysts have forwarded the footage, along with each isolated frame containing the coding, to law enforcement officials. Schon seit langem wird darüber spekuliert, dass die Gotteskrieger ihre Angriffspläne über das Netz koordinieren und dabei auch Verschlüsselungstechniken verwenden. Auch Steganographie, mit deren Hilfe die eigentlichen Codes im Datensalat meist von Online-Bildern versteckt werden, soll angeblich zum Einsatz kommen, auch wenn bisher keine Hinweise darauf gefunden wurden. Die Entdeckung der Aufklärungstruppe wäre damit ein erster Nachweis. Eingespielt wurde die Neuaufnahme laut NEIN von Clouds Enterprises, the video production group of Al Qaeda.

Update: Ups, da waren die NEIN-Meldung und das Foto mit dem aufgedeckten Code aber rasch wieder runter von der Site. Hm, man müsste halt immer gleich einen Screenshot anfertigen. Sind die Watchdogs mit ihrer Einschätzung nicht mehr zufrieden? Oder mag das FBI den Glaubenskriegern nicht derart prominent signalisieren, dass ihrer Videokommunikation da eventull jemand auf die Spur gekommen ist?

Update (27.7.04): NEIN fühlt sich jetzt wenigstens mal zu einer Erklärung des plötzlichen Verschwindens der Entdeckung genötigt: The footage and the individual frame offsets were forwarded to federal authorities, and pursuant to their legitimate and informal request, the frame capture was removed from the front page of our site.
