Nordkorea hat angeblich die A-Bombe

--- Die nordkoreanische Regierung hat in einer Erklärung behauptet, über Atomwaffen zu verfügen. Ein Auszug aus dem Statement, in dem sich Nordkorea als "Demokratische Volksrepublik Korea" bzw. auf Englisch "Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)" bezeichnet: The second-term Bush administration's intention to antagonize the DPRK and isolate and stifle it at any cost has become quite clear. As we have clarified more than once, we justly urged the US to renounce its hostile policy toward the DPRK whose aim was to seek the latter's "regime change" and switch its policy to that of peaceful co-existence between the two countries. We have closely followed with patience what policy the second-term Bush regime would shape after clarifying the stand that in that case it would be possible to solve the nuclear issue, too. However, the administration turned down our just request and adopted it as its policy not to co-exist with the DPRK through the president's inaugural address and the state of the union address and the speech made by the secretary of State at the Congress hearing to get its approval, etc. ... We had already taken the resolute action of pulling out of the NPT and have manufactured nukes for self-defence to cope with the Bush administration's evermore undisguised policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK. Its nuclear weapons will remain nuclear deterrent for self-defence under any circumstances. Da bleibt natürlich die Frage, ob der Diktator Kim Jong Il nur hoch pokert, um einen US-Angriff auf den "Vorposten der Tyrannei" in der "Achse des Bösen" abzuwehren, oder ob er wirklich die Bombe hat. Die Deutsche Welle geht in einem Kommentar jedenfalls von einer "Bestätigung" Nordkoreas über den Besitz von Atomwaffen und einem Erpressungsspiel gegenüber den USA aus. US-Außenministerin Condi Rice, die gerade eine Woche lang als stählerne Magnolie in Europa und im Nahen Osten verweilte, kontert momentan noch halbwegs zurückhaltend. Sie warnte, Nordkorea werde mit seinem jüngsten Schritt nur noch seine Isolation verstärken. „Denn allen ... ist sehr klar, dass es keine Atomwaffen auf der Koreanischen Halbinsel geben darf“

Update: Die grüne EU-Abgeordnete Angelika Beer wettert derweil in einer Pressemitteilung gegen die "Atommacht wider Willen" in Bezug auf die EU und verweist auf Bericht "U.S. Nuclear Weapons in Europe" (PDF) des Natural Resources Defense Council. Demnach lagern rund 480 US-Atomsprengköpfe in Europa: Dass 60 der insgesamt 150 in Deutschland lagernden Atombomben im Kriegsfall Deutschland zur Verfügung stehen sollen, verstößt gegen den Geist des Nichtverbreitungsabkommens und ist hochgefährlich. Im Interesse unserer eigenen Glaubwürdigkeit darf Europa nicht mit zweierlei Maß messen. Doppelte Standards bieten anderen Staaten neue Argumente in ihrem Streben nach der Atombombe und schwächen die Europäische Vermittlungsposition im Atomstreit mit dem Iran.
